They destroyed temples THEN & are doing NOW! Generations have passed but the story of temple destruction remains the same!

A brief history of one such grand temple, Bija Mandal, located in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, that brutally exposes the "Pseudo Secularism" of India...

1/n
The temple is said to have been built in 8th century & later reconstructed in 11th century by King Naravarman, a devotee of Goddess Charchika (Bijaya) & thus the temple is called Vijaya(Bijay) temple.

The temple is one of massive dimensions comparable with Konark in Orissa.

2/n
The temple was attacked several times until it’s very existence was buried inside the walls of a so-called mosque!

It was desecrated again & again since the days of Sultan Shamsuddeen Iltutmish followed by Allaudin Kilji, Bahadur Shah of Gujarat & finally tyrant Aurangzeb.

3/n
The temple had to witness the barbarism of four invaders, still, due to its rock-solid architecture, it continued to survive until Aurangzeb concealed all the remnants of the temple inside the so-called mosque walls and renamed it as Bijamadal Mosque.

4/n
The locals of Vidisha and several influential people of the region continued to protest and demand excavation of the site.

Delegations were formed & the then PM Jawaharlal Nehru was requested to meet the delegations who for one reason or the other decided to not meet them!

5/n
All attempts were subdued until one night in the monsoon of 1991, the heavy rain washed away the wall that was concealing the frontage of the so-called Bijamandal Mosque.

The broken & capsized walls completely exposed several majestic Hindu idols hidden behind the wall.

6/n
Note that for more than 300 yrs, Hindu idols were buried under the platform used as the Hall of Prayer especially on days of Eid. But no secular prayee talked about it!

After wall-collapse ASI was left with no choice for further concealment & had to excavate the temple.

7/n
The then District Collector came forward to offer protection to the Surveyors of the ASI, who were always exposed to the risk of violent wrath of bigots.

But the bitter fact to be noted is that ASI within a month received instructions to stop further work.

8/n
The officer of the ASI and the then Collector were transferred.

There was widespread belief in all the villages around Vidisha that this was done at the behest of the then Human Resource Development Minister at the Centre, Arjun Singh.

Secularism, you see!

9/n
The case is still in the court but to maintain peace and Harmony this case is under the status quo.

And thus the "Secularism" of India prevailed.
