The story isn’t just that Allison Pearson used her platform to threaten someone (“you’re finished” were her words) or to identify their employer to try do so. No. The main story is that she kept doubling down after the individual told her that he has suicidal thoughts.
Even if Pearson’s points about the individual’s tweets held up (I don’t think they do), it is truly despicable to double down in such a context, failing to show any concern for a person with suicidal thoughts. This is so, so shameful.

Update: I’m not going to link directly, but FYI: Pearson accepted the apology that was issued last night, but there’s none from her and the rest of the response is, in my view, pretty shameful given what happened. But Dave has accepted it and, most importantly, he seems ok. /end
