/5 - Flash has finally been put to sleep. This one piece of software in the mid 90’s changed my career in design. After being given copy from a friend, I moved completely from being a print based designer to designing and building for web, almost overnight…
/5 - Not being a natural coder it opened up a new world. I had a new job title... Flash Developer. I could now design and build websites, microsites, installations and applications for airports, theme parks, food companies, car manufacturers, football clubs…
/5 - I could also use it to create art for personal projects. This lead to artwork being sent around the world and to me becoming a regular contributor design publications, writing Flash tutorials…
/5 - A bit of admission… I still use Flash or Animate as it’s now known. The applications I created to produce sound generated artwork, geometric art, image manipulated patterns… are still used today…
/5 - I will eventually move over to other coding languages but as I said, not being a natural coder or academically that way included, nothing will change my life in the way Flash did.
