Thread-
Some people say MS Dhoni was a selfish cricketer and he didn't retire at the right time. Before judging whether he is selfish or not. Let’s answer some questions.
Was there any need of Dhoni in 2019 CWC?

If your answer is Yes. Let’s go ahead and answer a few more.

After the World Cup finished, did he made himself available for any series?

The answer is clearly No.
Has Dhoni had shown any disappointment in any matter of the team selection?

The answer is clearly No!
Has Dhoni ever blocked the path of a newcomer in the team?

Again answer is No.

In all 4 Questions, the answer is clearly No. Then how can he be called selfish? If you still think he is becoming selfish then let’s go in the past and answer a few more questions.
When did Dhoni take retirement in Tests?

Well, he took retirement from the test in just between the ongoing test series against Australia in 2014.
Did anybody had to think he is gonna quit Test Cricket. Nobody would have thought that he would quit test cricket but he bid adieu to Test cricket without telling anyone.

Then how can he be called a selfish player?
When did he Quit Captaincy from ODI and Test?

He quit captaincy In 2017 just Before the England series at home. Did he tell anyone that he is gonna quit Captaincy? I don’t think any Cricket fans would’ve thought that he would quit Captaincy before the 2019 World cup.
But he did that just to groom the new Captain Virat Kohli before the world cup.

Then how can he be called a Selfish Player?

If you still consider him a selfish player then you need to think 100 times before calling him a selfish.
You cannot win or finish every game. Losing is a part of the game.
