Not taken a spiritual posture here before. But on this 1st working day of 2021, I said to share thoughts I've had from reading the Bible. Hopefully, it impacts someone positively.

2 Kings 2: 2-7
Exodus 4: 2-3
1. At every point when God wants to increase someone, He takes something that already exists as the seed. It's why Elijah asked the widow what she had in her household. It's why God asked Moses what was in his hands.
This question takes many forms in our everyday lives. "What course did you study?" "What business do you do?" "Oh really, what do you sell?" "Who sells xxx on the TL?" "Please who studied xxx?"
Every time these questions are asked in a business environment, there is potentially an opportunity to present value - a skill, a service, goods.

In Moses' hand, it was a rod. In the widow's, it was oil. In the little boy's hands, it was 5 loaves & 2 fish. What is in yours?
2. Unless you do something with what you have you wont succeed. Moses threw the rod down for it to become a snake or stretched it to part the Red Sea. The widow poured her oil for it to increase. The disciples shared the little boy's food.

What are you doing with yours?
3. Elijah told the widow to borrow containers from her neighbours. And the oil didnt stop until all the containers were full. She basically had to increase her capacity to hold oil.

This year, increase yours. Hone your skill. Refine your service. Build your talent
To do so, do a course. Attend a lecture. Speak with mentors. Do something different. Learn! Learn!! Learn!!! With that increased capacity, will come an ability to increase the value you have on offer.
4. Take that to the market place. The widow's oil didnt mean anything till she sold it. Moses' rod didnt mean anything till it was before Pharoah or the Red Sea. The boy's bread & fish was just his lunch till it was distributed to the 5000.
Find your market. Find the people who need your service. Find the people who need your skill. Go to the people who need your talent. Apply your new skill in the office.

Only then can you reap value from it. Only then is it meaningful to your market or indeed to you.
I pray this year is professionally and financially rewarding to us all. May the Lord fill our hearts with laughter and our lips with songs of everlasting joy in the year 2021.
If I made any mistakes here, kindly forgive me & teach me. I'm only sharing the message as I see it.
