It’s absolutely counterproductive and counterintuitive to dismantle communities of grassroots organizers. We all have multiple strategic conversations and support for like minded elected officials, up to and including assisting the building of a viable third party option.
2)The fact that the tone has become about just trying to erase and agitate people who don’t agree lock, stock, and barrel with a particular strategy is ridiculous. Especially when we all want the same goal.
3)It’s petty and it’s immature. The most ridiculous part of this is the celebritzing of any of the figures at play. You have people crying on both sides of the argument both with righteous ideals weaponized cynically to appear right.
4)Theres the inevitable “people are dying” quote - as if a vote would provide healthcare and it arguably wouldn’t get us closer. There’s also the “Youre killing off all our leaders” crowd.
5)Let me help out here some if I can. First, if the squad doesn’t stand up to do their jobs in any substantive way then they should get primaried from the left. Second, These commentators got many of y’all choosing sides on something, laboring on Twitter and canceling people....
6)All so that they look good & right and justified in their behaviors. News flash they aren’t perfect either, & yes their behavior got in the way of a good strategy that can still be used in the future but may be looked at cynically because of the antics surrounding it this time.
7)All in all, we took steps backwards it seems as a movement, and in regards to Medicare for all, mostly because of petulant behavior, and click/like/I need attention and followers culture on Twitter.
8)We have to do better. That it, that’s all. We have to do better than this if we’re invested in serving people who are more vulnerable than our own selves.
