One of the things I have come to realise is that there is a lot of autistic screeching in the H RW over a lot of issues. Whether AMT/OIT or beef or Shastras. There is a single-minded obsession with single points. Let us take the example of beef... https://twitter.com/blog_supplement/status/1345790425576173568
It is immaterial whether the cow was sacrificed or eaten in pre-history by us. For at least 1,000 years if not more, the cow has been considered holy, sacred and Hindus have shuddered at eating its flesh. So much so that kings have portrayed themselves as cow protectors.
The need to find passages in the Veda or seek scriptural (Shruti) sanction strikes me as autistic and resembling Protestantism and Salafism (sola scriptura). Rather, cow protection is pan-Hindu with even Bengalis, Punjabis etc. refraining from eating it.
Even Hinduised tribes do not eat beef. Rather than engage in screeching, we should argue that for all practical purposes, the taboo against beef eating is ingrained among practising Hindus and is an article of faith. It is the same with attempts to find Vishnu in the Vedas/Kali.
To me, they are just an example of autistic screeching. It's like arguing you can only adopt the missionary position and none else because some hoary text mentioned it (Lol). If you like spoon better, I suggest you use it, autistic screeching be damned.
The beauty of Brahminical plus religion /Hinduism is that it adaptive. At one time, my region and I would have been considered barbarian (Bengal). Today, I vote BJP with hopes. 😁😁Autistic screechers would probably kancil ol ungle because of his origin and region. No autism pl.
