Important to note, as seasoned Roman watchers will realise, the first hint of this was briefed by the club to Athletic reporters last week so that the story was ready to run at the first defeat that followed

Right or wrong is <completely> irrelevant https://twitter.com/liam_twomey/status/1345797826639486978
Given that there was a 17-match unbeaten run, at which point Frank was having to beat off with a stick claims that we were title contenders, this is actually quite funny.
Frank also had to fight off claims that we had the strongest squad in the PL, but it rather seems to me that the one person who listened to this was Roman, because after 6 further games with only 1 win and 4 losses, he's now decided that he needs some more qualified to manage it
Obviously, what this reminds us of is the claims from Peter Kenyon in the 07\\08 season that it was the Board who got the club to the top of the PL and CL etc but Avram who lost them all. Now they think they've provided the best squad again, but it's being mismanaged
Poor little billionaire, Roman, is being let down again - but whisper it quietly that it's being mismanaged by the guy <he appointed> because that always gets conveniently forgotten
You know, there's always an alternative.
Instead of discarding the guy he appointed, showing his own bad judgement, Roman could support Frank further instead of undermining him in the press and making things more pressurised. Because that would be both quicker and cheaper
Ultimately, these situations are Roman battling against himself:

The version of Roman with hindsight against the Roman of a long-term plan that he never allows to last a moment longer than the first setback

And that's <exactly> why it only ever boils down to the same outcome
