The debates you are seeing about 2 doses of vaccine close together vs spread out and 1/2 dose vs original dose should not be alarming. This is what we do in healthcare, constantly. Reasonable people read the same literature and come to different conclusions.
People have different levels of comfort with theoretical benefit and acting on preliminary data. People combine pragmatic, ethical, equity considerations in different order/weights and arrive at different endpoints.
It is not easy; and in the case of Covid vaccines, there's very little time to let the dust settle around the discussion. But it's extremely reassuring to me that the arguments are happening robustly - that's the path to ensuring that a wide range of considerations are aired.
