The claim here is that the Trump/Raffensperger call was a confidential settlement discussion in a court case.

If true, this would make things worse for those on the Trump side of the call. 1/x
For starters, it would mean that anyone who behaved inappropriately in connection with this call would potentially be subject to sanction by the court. 2/x
Urging a litigation adversary to invent evidence? Threatening a litigation adversary with criminal charges? Telling a litigation adversary that you are willing to lie?

These are things that courts and bar organizations might care about. 3/x
And if it’s true that secrecy was important to the folks on the Trump side of the call, that wouldn’t make it better.

That would tend to show that they *knew* what they were doing was improper. 4/4
