We then went looking to find a charity we could align ourselves with. Heroes Aid was being set up by Mary and we decided to pick her new fundraiser.

Our next challenge was to source masks for our Healthcare workers.
An Irish Doctor and self proclaimed importing expert reached out to us via Mary and offered us masks.150,000 masks for €108,000
The invoice was made out by an Irish Event Management company called ROQU MEDIA

The company had very little trading history was registered to an apartment in Dublin 2 and the invoice was full of grammatical errors.
This was highly unusual considering it was from a Doctor and a businessman who had helped "save" HSE by providing Ventilators....

The doctor refused to answer me if he was profiteering, refused numerous times to provide certificates for the masks, removed the mask type "FFP2" from invoice due to some "new regulation".
I was not impressed and was anxious to spend 105,000€ of people's hard earned money.

After numerous hours of calls and persuasivness myself and other volunteer @JosephNaughton4 convinced the committee of Heroes Aid to not proceed with the payment. I then sourced masks via a connection in my rugby club in Hong Kong and we imported masks to Ireland at a fraction
of the cost we were being quoted by the Doctor and owner of Roqu Media.

It is beyond me how the HSE proceeded with this payment but they did.
After our masks arrived from Hong Kong and were distributed myself @JosephNaughton4 walked away from Heroes Aid as we felt we were no longer needed and we're both very glad we sourced our masks elsewhere

As they were cheaper, genuine and actually landed in the country and Hospitals across Ireland benefited from our 200,000+ masks Delivery.
I would like to thank everyone who donated as the money was used at the time for vital PPE and was carefully spent.
