Tim Farron doesn't appear to be critical of County Council and of Colin Cox as the conservative MPs seem to be...

The situation was triggered by the rates of cases, the prevalence of the new variant of the virus and the ability of the hospitals to cope. https://twitter.com/simonfell/status/1345847716706922499
This resulted in concern for when Primary schools reopen and as we have seen before in the pandemic this causes a rise in cases.

Concerns about the safety of school staff, of families of primary school children and the local community.
Concerns shared by Sage, Independent Sage, school staff unions and the Director of Public Health for Cumbria to name a few. They are arguing for a two week delay in fully reopening primary schools.
They would still be open for vulnerable children and those of key workers. Two weeks to see how the post Christmas data is looking and to allow analysis of the new variant on transmission particularly among children and young adults.
Also calling for more help, resources and funding for schools to be made safer.

Reports are emerging about hospital capacity in the north of the county, cases there are rising rapidly. The south of the county are seeing worrying numbers of cases too.
So given that acting early is key for dealing with a pandemic where is the line in the sand? Looking at the data and rates over the last few days and the lag in terms of reporting (and the lag in hospitalisations from new cases) how long would you give it?
