The things we do when creating sponsored posts...

I just spent 30 minutes in the rain and cold in front of a gas fire pit trying to get the right photo.

A thread đŸ§” of advice for content creators:
Remember that creating content is WORK, so get paid for it (not in coupons, promises of exposure or affiliate programs) - actual MONEY.
Work with brands / on campaigns that are genuine and authentic to you and your brand, or else it won’t even resonate with your audience.
Recognize your value (don’t focus only on numbers). Know your worth and CHARGE for it. You are creating unique content - from the idea, the photography, the writing, all of it - to promote another brand. It’s not easy work.
Read the contract and don’t be afraid to push back. Charge more for exclusivity. Check the payment terms and make sure you are comfortable with them.
Don’t be afraid to say no, or walk away from sponsored work, especially if it’s not a good fit, doesn’t pay well or you don’t feel good about the contract or demands.
Create a post-campaign report to show the brand things like positive comments, great engagement and more. That is a great way to form a long-term relationship with a brand.
Also a good thread for anyone in #MarketingTwitter who also freelances to create content or has their own blog.
