What’s happening at Chelsea FC is disappointing and embarrassing to fans that are used to the kind of regular success and consistency the club has given us. But, that is a small price to pay for the larger end goal which is a fundamental change to how the club has been developing
The current run of form is only a symptom of the risks involved in the kind of overhaul and integration that is currently happening. The previous spine and philosophy has been uprooted. For once instead of covering the cracks the club has decided to adopt a more organic approach
This is a long term project and requires patience and commitment throughout the hierarchy. Lampard may not be the man that eventually brings us the laurels we deserve but he is the man to finish the job he started.
So before you jump on the #LampardOut bandwagon, take a second and put things into perspective to actually understand the gravity of this situation that would be either halted or incomplete. They players we have now are here because they wanted to play for him.
He has integrated youth, he has attracted some of the most sought after young talents in Europe because of his idea and philosophy and he has improved the squad. This is only the first step in achieving a mammoth target which would be restructuring the DNA of the club itself.
Any appraisal happens at the end of a term and he deserves the remainder of his time for this to be adjudicated a success or failure, just how it was foolish to consider us title favourites after 16 matches, it is similarly foolish to write off everything he has done so far.
At the end of the season if there is a significant gap in expectations considering all externalities involved then and only then should his contract be terminated.

As the saying goes, Rome wasn’t built in a day.
