1) Watched another outstanding @UCI_CX WC (Hulst) this AM with potentially 2 of the best young riders in a generation: @mathieuvdpoel vs. @WoutvanAert. These guys have raced head to head 6 times in ~2 weeks of racing! always placing either 1 or 2 (or vice-versa) -what a rivalry!
2) I appreciate track & field athletes cannot compete this much, but @WorldAthletics somehow needs to put systems in place to leverage more head to head rivalry racing, instead of somewhat typical "avoid losing" until the major champ situations that tends to exist.
3) As a comparison, in the 100m hay day of Bolt vs. Powell (2008 and 2009), they only raced head to head 4 times per year (and they live and train in the same small country). These head to head rivalries are really what help sell a sport.
