Ah yes its so "easy" for women to watch test cricket, now that school is closed. Its not like are expected to do anything else besides packing kids off to school.

Of course this has hit a nerve.

But I will try and debunk this without getting too upset. Bear with me.

I was following a Pakistan game as I went into labour and remember calling my mom to find out the score (my data run out). She is a cricket nut too but was still upset at my question & didn't even tell me the score so I went into labour not knowing...
Imagine going through labour and worrying at the same time ke kahin Zimbabwe ke khilaf zaleel na hogain hon. (Thankfully we won by 20 runs). Imagine.
While I was still at hospital, I got messages from two of my cricket writing inspirations, Osman Samiuddin and Joy Bhattachrya, asking me if could write something for one of the cricinfo blogs.
Because I was in post partum recovery, I was not able to respond to my commitment. The guilt caused me to quit writing about cricket for several years. I only resumed last year. Still only Tweet.
So you see it is exponentially harder for women to be regular watchers of any sport because of the sheer burden of responsibilities on women compared to men who just have to adjust sleep patterns according to work. Guys can get away with having match days and weeks, women can't.
I use to make sure I finish my cooking and cleaning tasks to do before the day's play started so I could watch uninterrupted.
Once I had a day job, and kids, I had to reprioritise, cricket dhekein ke nend puri karein? On the dreaded 2016 Australia tour I had a one 6 year old, a 1 year old, a full time job, of course a husband & a home. I managed around 5 hours of sleep per day & some cricket.
And I have a super understanding husband who knows that cricket will always be my first love. Imagine a woman who loves cricket but ends up married to typical desi guy who wants garam garam roti off the tawa no matter kaun sa match chal raha ho.
So no, women don't have it "easy". Please. Rant over.
