@IrfanDhalla is there evidence in Ontario that schools increased transmission? My understanding (perhaps wrong) was that school cases went up as case counts went up but that transmission within the school setting was very low. I ask because shutting down schools has a tremendous impact on wellbeing of communities, the economy, equity for women, child development, addressing wealth inequity, etc. I hope we can make data driven decisions and look at options beyond open/closed/virtual only.
Closed and/or virtual is a direct download to working parents and will only further to worsen the wealth divide. Also development at my age can be put on hold for a year without impact but not so for kids.
