I have a lot of thoughts on this but big issues for me 1) audience v access (I'm rural first gen) 2) the cultural capital that comes w these...sometimes the shame felt if you didn't know about them early enough 3) how these barriers contribute to family anti-intellectualism 1/2
If you have reading suggestions (some of you gave great ones already) I'd love to keep thinking with others on it. 2/2
