For those curious about trigger warnings and their usage, I find this a really helpful pic to explain. In my line of work triggers are serious and commonplace, and it's really important TWs don't become overused, while also crucial they are used when they should be 😊
It is not one individual's place to define what is and isn't a trigger. The growth in using TWs is so, so positive in the whole. However, TW every single thing online that might make someone uncomfortable (which... everything on earth could!) +
-risks creating false expectations of how the world works, leaving them open to further anxiety, and undermining trauma. It's normal to have things that make us uncomfortable, and learning coping mechanisms is important. 😊 +
That said, no-one should be exposed to traumatising content so using TWs on genuinely triggering posts is so great.

It's tricky to get the balance! I'm definitely no expert, but all we can do is do our best to learn, listen and adapt our ways of doing things 😊❤️
