With the new school year around the corner, happy new year to our 30,000+ #CUPE K-12 members. @CUPEBC.

THANK YOU for the critical role you fulfill in our #bced education system!
A couple reminders as we enter the new year:
1. For those who don’t know, many CUPE K-12 members continued to work through the break, providing continuity of school operations and cleaning and sanitizing schools and worksites. Please join us in recognizing and thanking them for this important work.
2. Every workplace, including schools and district offices, is required to have a Covid Safety Plan and post/make that plan available for review by anyone requesting it. This plan should address physical distancing, masking, cohorts, cleaning and sanitizing, etc.
2 continued. Concerns with content or enforcement of Covid Safety Plans should be reported to your workplace Joint Health and Safety Committee. These plans are also meant to be dynamic and change with the science and outcomes seen in each workplace.
3. CUPE K-12 communicates regular updates via bulletins distributed to your CUPE Local to then share with their membership. We also post these updates to @cupek12bc on Twitter and Facebook (and where appropriate, IG). All info is also at https://bcschools.cupe.ca .
4. If you need assistance, please work with your CUPE Local shop steward. Each CUPE Local has a CUPE Staff Representative assigned to support your Local, and your Local and Staff Rep are supported by a team of CUPE Staff and elected officials for research, legal, communications,
4 continued. organizing, strong communities, and political support. Although @CUPEBC has no involvement in bargaining or enforcement of rights, we work closely with them to provide positive and productive outcomes for our members at every level of the education system. M
5. With the CUPE K-12 Presidents Council, your CUPE K-12 Coordinators have a seat at every provincial K-12 committee, where we communicate the needs of our Locals and members. We have & will continue to bring forward concerns shared with us to collaboratively improve conditions.
You can follow @cupek12bc.
