Stop saying TROS was hea for Rey and she is fulfilled as a strong woman and that because she is new Luke, so it has to be like that. The difference is Luke articulated what are his desires and they are totally different than Rey's. He wanted to abandon Tatooine, because this
place was stopping him in fulfilling himself. He wanted to be a pilot. Then he wanted to be a Jedi like his father. We saw it clearly, we heard it clearly. He wanted to be a hero. And he got it all. But did Rey want any of it? She was afraid to stay on Jakku, because she was
afraid to end here alone. Even when she heard about Jedi, met Luke and started to train we never heard from her that she wanted to be a Jedi. She was more doing it, because it was expected from her or she wanted to please people around her. And since, on Jakku, there weren't
people who cared for her, most likely this serving to others was enough for her, which ofc, isn't healthy behaviour, when you forget about yourself. The only desire she had was having a family. Not a bunch of cool dudes around her with whom she could bicker with and whom she
doesn't trust enough to share her secrets, not some ghost figures, who care about her only because she is good Jedi girl and carries out theirs commands. She wanted something more intimate, you have signals in a book and also in a movie she was starved for a touch. She wanted
close, true emotional connection, because she never had it. If the Resistance was an answer to this desire then TLJ and TROS are useless, because she was already a part of it in TFA. And she lost it all in TROS, gaining nothing for herself. No one is saying Ben was perfect for
her, because he was a perfect guy, but because he responded to exactly these desires, and also his desires were similar. What are desires of Poe? Did Poe treat Resistance as a family or more like a duty and he mostly felt responsibility for it, because he wanted to be a future
leader? What Finn wanted? Besides that his character is written terribly his desire wasn't what Rey wanted. He wanted to die like a hero in TLJ. He wanted to mean something more in a broader perspective of events. And both of them got it.
Rey got only a forced smile at the end and a title in a form of surname, I guess to repeat it everytime when she'll remind herself what she lost.
