VAR Recap - Liverpool FC 20/21 so far

A thread that rewatches all VAR decisions for or against Liverpool FC, that occured in the 20/21 season so far.

Even tho i'm a LFC fan myself, this is based on the rules of the game and should be unbiased and based on the facts.
First of all an overview, how involved was VAR in the first year of this season for Liverpool?

VAR overturns for Liverpool: 3
VAR overturns against Liverpool: 8
VAR net score: -5

This is just an indicator that LFC had a lot of close decisions.
Also, the numbers above only take into considuration the incidents where VAR got involved and made an overturn, not incidents that maybe should've had involvement but VAR didn't overturn anything.

First we check every single overturn as compact as possible:
Game: Chelsea (A; Sept. 20)
Incident: Christensen red card for a foul on Mane in the 45th minute - FOR
Verdict: Correct decision✅

Game: Everton (A; Oct. 17)
Incident: Henderson goal ruled out for offside from Sadio Mane, 90th minute - AGAINST
Verdict: Correct decision✅
Game: Sheffield United (H; Oct. 24)
Incident: Penalty awarded for foul on McBurnie by Fabinho, 10th minute - AGAINST
Verdict: Wrong decision❌

The "foul" was on the line and therefore the punishment would be a penalty. But Fabinho played the ball with a fair tackle.
Here is a video of the tackle. In both angles it should be quite clear that Fabinho played the ball, a fair tackle by the book. The awarded freekick got upgraded to a penalty (it was on the line and therefore this would be correct). But as said above, it's not a foul.
Game: Sheffield United (H; Oct. 24)
Incident: Salah goal disallowed for offside, 62nd minute - AGAINST
Verdict: Correct decision✅

Game: West Ham (H; Oct. 31)
Incident: Jota goal disallowed for a foul by Mane, 82nd minute - AGAINST
Verdict: Correct decision✅
Game: Man City (A; Nov. 8)
Incident: Penalty awarded for handball against Gomez, 41st minute - AGAINST
Verdict: Wrong decision❌

Given Gomez action, his arm was in an expected position and not over his shoulder. No clear and obvious mistake.
It's very important to mention that the VAR is supposed to only send the onfield referee to the pitchside monitor, if a clear and obvious mistake happened. It's possible to argue about the handball, but it's not a clear and obvious mistake by the referee.
Game: Brighton (A; Nov. 28)
Incident: Salah goal disallowed for offside, 35th minute - AGAINST
Verdict: Correct decision✅
Incident: Offside against Mane after scoring, 85th minute - AGAINST
Verdict: Correct decision✅
Game: Brighton (A; Nov. 28)
Incident: Penalty awarded for a foul on Welbeck by Robertson, 92nd minute - AGAINST
Verdict: Wrong decision❌

Maybe the most controversial VAR call for LFC this season, so far. But why was VAR wrong?
The onfield referee did not give a foul for the incident. We saw the replays and many argue for or against a foul, but the most important thing is again: Is it a clear and obvious mistake? The anwser is no, it isn't. VAR should not've sent the referee to the pitchside monitor.
Game: Wolves (H; Dec. 6)
Incident: Penalty cancelled, Mane adjudged not to have fouled Coady, 44th minute - FOR
Verdict: Correct decision✅

Worth to mention that despite the correct call, to cancel the penalty kick, was made, a yellow card for simulation was missed.
Game: Fulham (A; Dec. 13)
Incident: Penalty review rejected by referee Marriner following Fabinho challenge on Cavaleiro, 16th minute - FOR
Verdict: Correct decision✅

Again, VAR calling the onfield referee to the monitor, even when no clear and obvious mistake took place.
Summary of the overturns:
11 incidents were VAR was involved, 4 of them were false, according to the VAR-Protocoll. All 4 of this decisions were against Liverpool FC, not one of them in favour.

Thankfully Andre Marriner refused one of the wrong overturn.
As we stand, more than 36% of all VAR overturns were wrong, all of these against LFC. To be clear, this is a number that should be 0%.

We talk about professional referees that have video evidence and know when to get involved or not. But sadly this is just half the story...
Before we move on i want to talk about the offside decisions. Yes, LFC had many offside decisions against them, and funny enough most of them were very close, but there is no way to blame any VAR officials for the current system. Every decision is made by the same system.
While i agree that the current system had a very big room for error (up to 38.8cm/14inches) due to the framerate, it is the system the clubs agreed on. Hopefully, there is a way to improve this margin of error in the future. But to move on, we go to the missed incidents
This is the part that every LFC fan has to feel frustrated this season. While VAR sent the referee to the pitchside monitor numberous times, even when no clear and obvious mistake happened, they also missed clear and obvious mistakes that would've benefited LFC
If i missed some incident(s) that would've been against LFC, please let me know. Remember, we talk about clear and obvious mistakes from the referee, that VAR did not check (or offside mistakes by VAR). I can't remember a single one.
Game: Aston Villa (A; Oct. 4)
Incident: Penalty on Salah missed, 16th minute

I know, Liverpool lost 7-2. Doesn't change the fact that the VAR missed a clear and obvious penalty kick for Liverpool, while they were trailing by just one goal.
The defender doesn't just shield the ball, he makes a tackle against Salah, without even touching the ball. This is as clear as a penalty gets. This is an incident that would show why VAR is needed, but instead it got ignored.
Game: Everton (A; Oct. 17)
Incident: Red card on Pickford missed, 5th minute

We move one game forward. Pickford rushes out of his box and scissor tackles VVD knee high what turns out to be a season ending tackle. While the offside call is correct, Pickford has to be sent off.
Game: Spurs(H; Dec. 16)
Incident: Penalty for Dier handball missed, 12th minute

Another clear and obvious mistake. People like Mark Clattenburg claim Salah pushed Diers arm towards the ball, i showed that this ain't true here: https://twitter.com/RobinGerrard8/status/1339343894111252480
Final VAR verdict including missed incidents:
7 right calls
7 wrong or missed calls

Excluding the offside calls:
3 right calls
7 wrong calls

VAR made a wrong call for 70% of all incidents involving LFC that were not offside. Everyone of them were against LFC.
