1. Sometimes when people have a mental health 'episode' (what they are commonly called) their reality can become warped. They feel threatened by the world and may use weapons in an attempt to do what they perceive as protect themselves.
2. I don't know if this happened with George Nkencho because I wasn't there and don't know his situation. I do know that it's very possible though and have witnessed a psychotic episode from a close family member where violent events unfolded from a person not usually violent.
3. Because she is a white woman with mental health issues she is viewed as a nuisance to society as opposed to a threat like a Black man with mh issues is. People find her comical at times. This is still dehumanising but not enough to take her life from her.
4. When it's a white man with mh issues he becomes more of a threat but still less than a Black man who is viewed as 'a thug' an 'other' who we white people need to protect ourselves from no questions asked.
5. This is what racial bias looks like. The 'thug' 'criminal' 'he deserved it' narrative rather than ever looking at him through another lense and seeing a human suffering who might need compassion and help rather than 5 bullets in his body.
