Short thread: make the most of Twitter to help you with a difficult term.
I have found the #Historyteacher corner of twitter to be utterly FAB. For *years* all I did was ‘look n’ like’ and didn’t engage.
Some thoughts on how engaging more could help you this term:

1. Don’t worry- everyone is:
A) really friendly and supportive
B) figuring it out themselves
C) feeling like an imposter
I’ve rarely seen major disagreements between History teachers, and any I have seen have been courteous & professional. 99% is supportive & kind

2. ASK QUESTIONS! Most people very happy to share advice. Do have the confidence to tag people who might be able to help. They will. If you’re not sure who might help, tag me and I’ll point you! The worst that happens is they don’t reply.
3. Follow resource sharers- they won’t always be able to send you copies, but the ideas are always inspirational: @MrThorntonTeach @KKNTeachLearn @SPBeale and loads of others
4. Remember there are experienced subject leaders here - it’s completely fine to ask subject leadership questions too- nobody has this fully sussed, especially at the moment. @CatPriggs @DavidJHibbert @EG_Carr @YorkClio @sharon_anin and loads more
5. Keep an eye on the work of @histassoc @1972SHP @TMHistoryIcons - these networks will help at different moments and in different ways.
6. Share your own thoughts and ideas, they will benefit someone. Even if it’s just something that raises a smile.
Basically, try asking for help with something! People *will* be generous and kind, especially at the moment!
Good luck this term.
