Reading that really struck a bad chord with me.
I love my Dad and, as much as I get pissed off with him sometimes, I wouldn't have any other. But when I was growing up, he often got lost in the idea of what he thought a fulfilling childhood for me *should* be like, rather than listening for what I actually wanted and needed.
