I honestly can’t believe this has to be said in the third day of the year of our Lord 2021, but for Christ’s sake: Yes, you are ABSOLUTELY allowed to dislike people in the fandom. You are allowed to dislike what they say, what they post, dislike them as a person.

No one forces anyone to be friends with everyone and you do not have to share this space with people you don’t like. I have found myself disliking certain takes and certain attitudes by a number of fannibals. Good fannibals, popular fannibals, fannibals with loads of followers

and friends. And I blocked them because they annoyed me or I simply didn’t want to see their takes on stuff or whatever reason. THAT is what you do when you don’t like someone in the fandom. Even if they’re friends with your mutuals or friends. You block them.

If you disagree about something that’s important to you, block that person. If you are tired of a certain topic or “discourse”, you mute the words involved, you mute or block the person or people involved. You block them and you move on with your life.

It is fine. It is perfectly valid. You are allowed to dislike someone others like, you are allowed to disagree and decide you don’t want them in your curated space. That is fine, you are entitled to, you SHOULD DO IT! Promise no one will mind!

You know what you DO NOT FUCKING DO? You DO NOT harass people! Even if you don’t like them, you don’t harass them! You don’t harass them over anonymous platforms through questions. You don’t send them messages telling them how much you hate them. You don’t create false account

after false account to continue to harass the person you don’t like.
Honestly, it is the single most middle school bully move one can do, and it’s pathetic, and it makes you worse than the person you don’t like. HOW fucking easy it is to block and move on. Just pretend the

Person or people or subjects you dislike or bother you or trigger you don’t exist. Find new people and subjects YOU DO LIKE. Focus on those. On the positive. Make friends. Chat with your friends. Create something. That is what fandom is for. Not to be a fucking bully.

I absolutely understand being sick and tired of topics or discourses or the same stuff that creates conflict, it is understandable to want to avoid it. Avoid it then. I promise that blocking and focusing on the stuff you DO like is 1000 times better and more productive than

Spewing hate in the same space you say you love and want to preserve. Even if you think you are doing the community a favor by dragging people and wanting to cancel them and expose them, you are doing the EXACT SAME THING you are supposed to be fighting against.

Creating a toxic fandom environment.
At the end of the day, everyone is entitled to post whatever the fuck they want in their OWN personal twitter. Whether that is content, shitposting, rants... whatever they want. It is YOUR choice if you want to follow an account or not

If you want to see what they have to say or not. That’s fine, it is valid, I hear you. Even Godamn antis are entitled to post their shitty biased uninformed opinion, and STILL we DO NOT harass them for it. We block and we maybe rant a little about how annoying they are.

And then we move on.
I cannot believe I am STILL seeing people being harassed by anon accounts and anon questions for expressing their opinion in whatever the hell they damn want on this public 280 characters platform.

You are entitled to dislike people and are entitled to not want to see them again, but I BEG YOU, just block and move on. Make the fandom space you want to be on.

And on that count, if you didn’t like my rant right now, then just block and move on.
