Tiktok storytelling - a thread.

A Tiktok/reel may be a really short video format, but don’t forget to tell your story through them. Ppl buy into that.
There are trends, funny ones, reels/Tiktoks for entertainment purposes like dances

And then ones with the best hacks - short snapshot info that will change a person’s life, even in the smallest way - like how to make coffee.

Then they’re Tiktoks/Reels that make ppl feel.
These are often the most powerful. They make ppl relate to you. You tell a story that brings them in.

I sat in a CH room of ppl on Tiktok with an audience of 1M+ and one guy was like he just wants ppl to feel. The most successful ppl and brands always make ppl feel some way.
Whether inspired, amused, proud, seen etc.

I used to just put video clips together of a place I went to, add music and make it a Tiktok.

But I take the same clips, slow it down, do a voiceover taking my audience through the experience - and my engagement goes thru the roof.
To be honest I still do straight forward compilation videos like that because they’re cute and fun😅 but I know they would have less impact than if I tell my story. So it depends what I’m looking for.

Asking: how do I want the viewer to feel? guides how frame & deliver content.
