Graphs merely showing numbers of deaths from covid19 are misleading and shouldn’t be used in isolation - especially as Christian leaders. The burden of the virus is not shared equally. You are more likely to die if you are poor, a carer or in a BAME community.
Yes it also affects those who are elderly and those with underlying health conditions. But let’s not forgot the others who are disproportionately impacted.
And who will be affected disproportionately on an economic basis for many years to come
There is a major injustice unfolding... as Christian leaders we need to pay attention to the poor and the most vulnerable. We need to start praying and planning now. Middle class and wealthy churches with resources need to step up and fund churches working in forgotten places
We sing a song about leaving the 99 but so many commentators are saying how most people will be ok. But it’s the “1” we should be concerned about.
