Let me tell you why spreading unnecessary doubts about #vaccination is dangerous. I was very closely involved in fighting this very rumour mongering during the polio vaccination drive in #India & it was a very very tough fight. #vaccine
As #India was getting closer to getting rid of #polio, certain elements launched a mass campaign to spread false rumours in the Muslim community about the #vaccine. It became such a huge problem that large numbers refused the vaccine point blank!
It took almost 2 years with a sustained outreach program & a meticulous media campaign in its tow to mitigate the fears caused by these nefarious elements! I’ve seen the danger up close, I’ve seen the pain it’s caused. #VaccinePolitics
There are times when we must all leave our ideologies & political beliefs aside & do what’s good for us all, do what’s good for the nation. This is one of those times... #vaccine #VaccinePolitics
