Hello, this is a psychological analysis on one of Black Clover's character, Noelle Silva. Before we start and to show it has a base of proof, Tabata takes inspiration on a lot of things when making a character, there are medieval references everywhere +
But one thing that stood out to me is that the Black Bulls' base was inspired on the serial killer >Henry< H. Holmes' Castle, it looked like a labirynth just like the Bulls' base. That alone tells me he also thinks a lot about the characters he creates.
Anyways, getting into it, I may step too deep and assume things that he didn't plan at all, so take this as a grain of salt and something made only for entertainment.

To start, with everything Noelle has lived, I'm surprised she is still alive and I'm not even kidding.
The first big impact of her life: her mom died while giving birth to her. That is enough to make children blame themselves, even when they weren't at fault, plus, her siblings actually blamed her, which made it all worse than it actually was.
We see her get disturbed many times and doubting herself, if she can really strike that attack, if she really is worth a compliment, etc. Asta helped a lot, but only because he has a fucked up life too and kept standing, no reason for her not to stand too, right?
In my opinion, her lack of control over her magic has two intrinsic reasons. 1. since children blame themselves about anything bad that happens, she blamed herself for her mother's death, something she doesn't have >>control<< over it.
2. the lack of reassurance and encouragement from her family. it all made her think she was such a failure and all that situation made her think she had no >>control<< over herself too.
We see that change, and Noelle slowly gaining control over her magic also means she is healing. Throughout her life, she had no mother figure nor father figure. Her dad only considered her a failure and is nowhere to be seen. Her mother died and +
You may say there is her grandma, but we don't know to what extent was her role on Noelle's life. So then I present you, the 3 parents figure she has: Mereoleona, Fuegoleon and Yami. Whenever she gets praised by them it makes her day,
It's like finally getting accepted into a family and being able to occupy her "daughter chair". Further explaining this, we go into projection and overview of the Silva siblings about Noelle.
Not only Noelle was born "to the cost of their mother's death" (we now know it's not, but that doesn't change their feelings towards her), but she also looked EXACTLY like their mother.
So, what the siblings did their whole life was,, projection (and bullying). They also lost their mom, and they had someone right in front of them that looked exactly like her, subconsciously, they wanted her to be like Acier, projecting the mother figure onto her.
This also adds to the conflict and makes it seem messed up, but it's true. So, since her magic was not like Acier's and she didn't have a talent like her mother, they rejected her. Mad weird, but that's constellation.
On constellation, everyone has their assigned chairs and roles, such as "mom", "dad", "first child", etc. Noelle was never able to sit on her assigned chair up until recently and getting treated as the little sister, and the missing "mom" chair made that all more difficult.
NOW, praise Mereoleona, she has one of the most important roles in Noelle's growth as a whole. Instead of expecting her to be like her mom, like everyone else, she tells her this:
That is so important you have no idea, it was like releasing Noelle from all the chains people put her all over her life. It was like saying "It's okay to look up at your mom, she was amazing, she loved you, but get stronger YOUR OWN WAY"
Mereoleona too, acknowledges that Noelle is awfully similar to Acier, but addresses it with a different approach and that makes a difference. While it looks like Nozel only seems to really accept her as a sibling when she looks even more similar to her mom +
That's not actually true. He was the only one who knew the truth, he had the best interest at heart, but contributed to a messed up picture of her life, when in fact he pretty much adores her as a little sister.
He was trying to control and keep all the siblings safe and if that meant putting Noelle in the worst squad for her own sake, then be it. I would rather say he actually didn't want her to get stronger, but since it happened, he owned up and acknowledged her.
And, I believe I don't even have to explain that the tsundere demeanor is only to protect herself and shield her from getting hurt when showing her true feelings, since she was hurt all her life, right?
Now we still need to see how Nebra and Solid will react to the truth for further analysis, but I think that's most of it. You can also complement if you have anything to add! Follow me BC stans!! đź’•
