#Archaeology31 Our torc work isn't just about looking at torcs and book research.

Roll and I find that #creativity really helps....

Thread.
We both spend a lot of time drawing - often to illustrate our ideas - but mostly as a way to help us understand what is actually going on.

Roll's illustrations, even his sketches, are artistic and beautiful.
Whereas mine can best be described as 'good use of colour'.....
Roll also likes to visualise with the aid of blu tack and has been known to strip a curator's office (sorry, Fraser) to find enough of the stuff to create with...
Being the daughter of a skilled carpenter, I prefer making the torc props we use - for lectures and conferences - in wood...
Whereas Roll tends to go for epoxy resin, metal or thermo - plastic.
Recently we've gone upmarket and started playing with the real deal - gold!
However, if all else fails, there's always torc sweeties as a last resort.... 😂
