Most people you see are taking up social identities and beliefs just to be contrarian to some other fake identity

it's identity that solely exists to negate another identity, you can see it consuming people's minds
This isn't unnatural, humans are social creatures and for the sake of group cohesion, they create group identities

so what happens when you don't have a real group? You simulate fake ones, fake communities
Observe this in children, they get in wars over which parasocial youtuber/streamer is better

observe this in adults, they will argue over meaningless politics and football teams
Many people discussed politics with their family over the holidays. What you'll find is talking to someone who watches CNN or FOX hate each other, nothing real is being said though. The FOX viewer hates the CNN viewer, and vice versa
You can try talking to them as a human being and they will short circuit

"Wait, you disagree with me and you DON'T watch that news network? You're lying, You're probably lying yes that's it"

this is how these faux identities zombify people
Same thing with conspiracies. Is a conspiracy true or not? Doesn't matter, drink the microplastics and fluorides to own the conspiracy moms concerned about their children's health https://twitter.com/FarRightFruit/status/1345593676735528960
There's so many examples.

Sports team identity
one sport vs. another sport identity
gamer identity
moba vs. shooter identity
which moba identity, which shooter

you can poke your finger down into one fake identity and see many permutations of increasing redundancy
You most likely think you're that one 1% who's not a zombie, probably have posted NPC memes before, but really you're guilty until proven innocent.

You're human after all, not immune to this, just so long as you're aware of it you won't be blindsided
As @wineandammo and @FarRightFruit have discussed, there is a large portion of people who think outer space is "reddit"

Why is liking outerspace reddit? What is reddit? You're telling me you're mad at website users on a different website?

Identity zombies.
identity solely in negation. Whatever this website likes, I don't like it. Rain is reddit. Color is reddit.

A beautiful night sky? Reddit, outerspace is demons btw.
As for outerspace being demons, you have fake orthodox people who took up that identity to be against liberals who like science

and they're e-orthodox and not e-tradcaths because tradcaths became unfashionable
The point of all these examples is people will have their beliefs, feelings, and identity decided for them by orbiting some brand, they zombify themselves

it's a perversion of group identity because you have no tangible irl group around you
