. @cavs second half thread starts here:
Offsense first. The Drummond post ups drive everyone crazy, but this is Drummond at his best. Almost no one can match him in size and strength down there let alone Capela
Speaking of Drummond post ups lmao. Notice how Nance spaces high to pull Collins out of doubling the post giving Drummond a one on one
For the @cavs fans who have stuck with these young guys, I bet around this time last season you did not expect to ever see this kind of maturity on the PNR from Sexton dragging the ice defender further from his man and Nance no hesitation popping from the top
The set kind of gets stagnant, but Nance has always been live off the ball here catches Collins ball watching
The Mcgee spacing is problematic but i love @cavs moving the ball quickly side to side and Sexton getting downhill fast.
Honestly textbook drop step by javale
I can't talk enough about the maturation of Nance and Sexton. Sexton likely continues to pound this last season, instead, takes two guys deep and Nance with the perfect swing
A good set and @Cavs just kept going downhill at the ice coverage. If you follow this account you will have seen me point out that Gasol as a vet doesn't drop too far on the ice, ATL's bigs just keep backpedaling and end up getting put right under the tin
Notice how quickly Exum notices his man completely with his back turned and starts the cut. Great find in transition
Seems like Sexton sees Cedi late, tough pass to get enough zip on off the dribble but another great find
Such a veteran move as he waits until Collins starts finding McGee's body to get off the floater. Not gonna get blocked with Reddish on his hip
*chef kiss* as he gets Huerter on the switch leaning, simple quick cross. Gets Trae flying off the strong side corner to help but he ain't gonna block that. Ballin
Sexton's decisiveness (which I've highlighted since last March as the area he has improved the most) on display here getting into the paint and not overcomplicating it
Garland probably just needs to throw the lob here instead of a drop off, but this is NBA hustle. Sticking with it amongst the chaos
ONIONS
What a win on the road, Sexton absolutely balled. But team win. McGee big buckets, Cedi big buckets, Drummond got them on the roll out of the break.
