failing needs to be seen as less of a bad thing to happen... life and the things you do should allow mistakes, otherwise how can you learn and set reasonable expectations for yourself?
imagine setting the standard that every art piece you make has to turn out good or better than the last. like who cares! improvement is a good value but without experimenting and allowing some work to be 'bad', means you may leave out heaps of uncharted territory
I also think it's ok to not have to value 'good technicality' in art. You may something that is just pure expression or ideas in art, and that's fine!
food for thought: right now is the time where there is an incredible AMOUNT of art as well as an incredible standard for art. but what will it be like in 5 years? 10 yrs? 20 years? I do worry that one day there may be a lack of space for 'bad' art or certain ideas or methods.
