I don't think looking like your ancestors is "superficial" at all.

One time i was visiting a far away village and planning to meet with family. I was a couple miles away walking to their home when a car stopped and said "Rich?!" https://twitter.com/OfSoutherner/status/1345287262972518403
It was an aunt I had not seen since i was a baby.

I asked her how she knew it was me, not seeing any recent photos or anything, she replied "you look just like the rest of us."

Was one of the most heart-warming things to ever happen to me.
there are photos on my walls from decades before I was born of my dad and uncles, people routinely think they are photos of me somehow and get confused looking at them knowing they are too old to me be.

it's really pretty cool. i highly recommend.
one time an estranged cousin walked into a bar another relative owned. the bar owner said "man, you look just like my uncle Johnny."

the customer says "my dad's name was Johnny".... they were cousins and had no idea. not seen each other since children.

BRUH this stuff matters.
I want to preserve these unique little things and interesting people's and cultures that have been carefully crafted over generations.

i do not wish for some universal mixup of little grey consumer people who only are tied by their favorite harry potter house and sport team.
