For those interested in the nitty gritty of @KirkHerbstreit's announce-from-home set up, here's a few of the details from @espn Remote Ops Specialist Brian Ristine:

/THREAD
ESPN used their “Live From Home” workflow for primary audio + video delivery. Unity for audio. Zoom for video.

"Both provide very low latency and makes it possible to have a near real-time conversation. No special sync workflows needed." https://twitter.com/i/status/1345429498758639617
It's the same workflow ESPN used in the summer for KBO baseball.

"It’s become a very critical component in our effort to provide sports coverage with the current pandemic challenges and restrictions."
Herbstreit also used a closed circuit replay device during the game. ESPN techs were able to deliver video to that device via satellite uplink/downlink.

It also allowed for remote configuration and operation once the basic set up was complete.
For making this all possible, a big shoutout goes to:

- remote ops specialist Brian Ristine
- sr. coord. producer Ed Placey
- associate dir. Carl Heinemann
- ops specialist Kevin Cleary
- sr. ops coord. Katy Abbott
- associate dir., remote traffic operations Adam Whitlock

Also, Ed Placey adds:

- 5 different Zoom feeds
- 2 Satellite feeds downlinked
- 1 TVU feed (for his on-camera)

Carl Heinemann has been at Kirk’s house (in Nashville) for anything live coming out of there. He recorded the video you all saw.
