It's food for thought that the boys are all 2002s. Which means many will already be turning 19 in the next few months.
And have stayed in the juniors a ... long time. https://twitter.com/zootennis/status/1345519423378042883

18-year-old boys who are still in the juniors tend to do well because of physical maturity and experience. But 18-year-olds still in juniors tend (anecdotally) to not necessarily take it to the next level, at least not quickly.
Because, obviously, if they were THAT good at 18, they'd have long left the juniors behind.
There are also a lot of fedn's and agents (and parents and players) who "want that junior Slam" to put on the resumé.

It's a Challenging year to make moves in the pros because of the lack of events (although Mayot, already injured, hit the $15k trail in Tunisia.
But here are their ATP rankings.

There are ... 150 French male players with ATP Tour rankings.
Which is kinda nuts.

The average age of the top 13 (everyone above Hugo Gaston on the list) is ... 29.5 years.
Only Moutet and Humbert are under 25.
Moutet, 21, got to No. 7 in the juniors.
He played all the way through the juniors - he was 18 years, 4 months when he ended his career.
His best efforts came in that last year (SFs at AO and RG).

He didn't do much in Slams b4 that (never played the US Open).
In 2016, at 17, he lost to countryman Geoffrey Blancaneaux, who went on to win the junior title.
Blancaneaux, a year older and nearly 18, beat ... Shapovalov and FAA in that event.
He's currently at No. 283.

As for Humbert, who is also a '98, he's a fair bit taller than a lot of those other Frenchman. And also a lefty.
He got to No. 18 in the rankings - again, in his 18th year.
If your fed'n is loaded, you can get to that # without having done anything outstanding.

Humbert only GOT to the Grade 1 level in his 17th year.
And he only played 3 junior Slams in a tough era:
He lost to Tsitsipas in the 2nd round of 2015 jr RG, to Fritz in the first rd of the jr USO, and to Oliver Anderson in the 1st rd of the 2016 junior AO.

He was 17 when he made his first Futures final – and nearly 19 before he made his second.
2 1/2 years ago, he was still playing Futures. Now he's the French No. 3 and will be seeded at the AO.
