I struggled with hating my art for a long time. Something my psychologist recommended that may help you is to keep shots of your art on your phone. Take time to look and appreciate your work and acknowledge the time you took. Critique is for later. It’s more about giving yourself
positive reinforcement and building a healthier relationship with your work. Hating your art is not a path to improvement for a lot of folks! It’s just creates anxiety, makes the process negative and toxic, and give you no motivation to be better. Why do something if you’re gonna
hate the output? Affirmation from other people helps with your art, but the best you can do is give that to yourself. Admitting that you did good work doesn’t make you pompous. It’s a motivator to recognize you’re getting better.

Last note. Some folks will tel you critiques have to be horrible harsh and you should be equally hard on yourself. And I don’t know, but that’s never worked for me. It’s miserable. If you’re gonna be an artist, you may as well have fun and enjoy the process and love what you make
