Okay, as someone that's been subject to discrimination my whole life, I have to say words are less important than INTENT.
The language police only seem to pop up and try to make people that aren't the problem feel bad. In reality, they're just picking easy targets.

2/ Example. This happens frequently: I'm talking to an elderly white person, who innocently makes a reference to Pakistan/Bangladesh/etc, assuming that's where I'm from.
Do I go off on how not all 2 billion brown people are the same race? Fuck no. They aren't the problem.

3/ They didn't mean to offend me, and frankly I'm not offended. I gain no ground by making them feel bad when it was an innocent assumption.
A private club that's somehow full, but not for my white friend? They're discriminating.

4/ We just worked with a quadriplegic dude who dropped the r-word. That's right, recession. Kidding, the other one.
Should I lecture him about ableism? Fuck no.
He *actually* knows what ableism is. How am I advancing society by lecturing him on it? I'm not.

5/ Someone denying him an opportunity because he's quadriplegic? That's discrimination.
Anyone that conflates the two issues, or says someone using a term is just as bad, is so privileged, they have no clue what it's like to be discriminated against.

6/ The people that complain about minor language use being discrimination, are picking targets they know will empathize.
They're trying to feed their need for moral superiority, by lecturing people that aren't the problem.
People that are the problem? They don't give a shit.
