i’m listening to Rated R again for the 4th time, i don’t really like this album but i’m going to listen again to see if i change my mind.
i will make this into a thread of my thoughts on each song
Mad House - this intro reallt sets off the vibe for the album; the suspenseful music followed up by the electro vibes mixed w rihanna’s vocals is really :o considering the fact that her previous albums are more nice sweet girl vibes, it’s a heavy contrast idkkk just waffling
Wait Your Turn - i like this song, v nice. the dub beat is nice and the electric guitar

Hard - this song is v different, it’s a pop song w hip hop elements; you can tell that rihanna really experiments and tries to break off from her good girl image w this dark & contracting album, again it’s not my fav song i just 
Stupid In Love - this song is really slow from the other two, it’s like a a sad heartbreak song, i think i could cry to this if i was sad. i like this song !!
ROCKSTAR 101 - this song is more of a rock song w the guns n roses guitarist who did the guitar for this song (your fav could never) when i first listened to this song i found it ?? corny idk but it’s BOMB af i love it
Russian Roulette - this is a slower sad deeper song. the intro of the song bores me but it gets better and i think it’s one of my favs icl
Fire Bomb - the electric guitar man i love the sad vibe of the song mixed w the rock elements, i feel 12 again

Rude Boy - i don’t even need to say anything about this song, TIMELESS CLASSIC, ABSOLUTE BANGER, & WILL NEVER GET OLD

Photograph - fucking banger, rih and will i am on a track is *chefs kiss* absolutely gorgeous
G4L - ima play this song w my boo in the car when we’re going to shoot some opps. the song is just a vibe rlly, not her best but good nonetheless
Te Amo - another song that has a slow start but gets better as it goes on; it really makes me want to shake my ass uno what i mean, lovely song!
Cold Case Love - another slow deep love song, omg the ending w the electric guitar

OVERALL OPINION: from the last time i heard this album, my view has changed a lot, i didn’t really like ROCKSTAR 101 and Russian Roulette and a few other songs, but my taste buds have matured !! it’s a v good album i’d say it’s top 5
