Habit Triggers that have changed my life.
Smelling your floss in between each tooth, you quickly realize how often you should floss
When your in the last 2 minutes of your shower put your conditioner in and turn the shower to cold. Forces you to wash out the conditioner and stay in a cold shower for 2 minutes. Lowers blood pressure wakes you up
10 minute HIIT workouts in the morning, are 5x more effective than a cup up coffee. Easy to maintain an exercise regimen. I don’t use weights and use the Nike training app. It’s free.
Just use a duvet no top sheet. Keeps making the habit of making you bed easier to maintain. Habits compound like investments. The more you have and the longer you do them the more fruit you bear
At the end of every phone-call regardless of who they are I tell them I love them or I love there energy. Not everyone was told they were loved. This is an uncomfortable things to do but it’s so powerful. Best part is that it’s contagious.
Walking, I come up with all my ideas walking. I give credit to my dog Samson for this. He forces me to maintain habits and this routine. I know how much his walks mean to him and I can see in his appreciation in his eyes.
Start every dinner with salad and water first. Get full off salad and water then eat protein. I prep my salads when everything is in/on the oven cooking. Or my protein is resting.
Don’t teach people, become an example. If you want to motivate others to eat healthy or adapt better philosophies start by doing them yourself
Leave vitamins on the counter, I credit vitamin d to helping some of depression symptoms.
Focus your day on solving 1-2 big problems. Do them at the beginning of the day.
Fill a bottle of water and always keep it next to your bed always. When you wake up pound it back.
Support as many people as you can, if it’s your friends business or some new endeavour. Give give give. It doesn’t hurt you.
Read like a buffet. Don’t limit yourself to ready one book at a time cover to cover. Find out what interests you. I read recipes and cooking techniques. To human evolution and philosophy they all correlate down the road. Read to understand, not to memorize.
Be creative in you communication, I am undiagnosed dyslexic. So I send a lot of voice memos and videos. I always prefer FaceTime. I understand people’s vibe by the tone of their voice and seeing their facial expressions. People appreciate taking a different approach
