If you wear a wig 80-90% of the year it is not a protective style. A protective style is something you wear occasionally. And it’s meant to be taken down after some time. Y’all know this but rather play dumb so let’s go.
Wigs very well can be protective styles. But let’s look at the reality. Y’all go get your wigs installed and then only wear your natural hair in between styling. Wigs have now become convenient styling.
A real protective style is braids, twists, faux locs. Because after 2 months or so, you are ready to take it out and get back to your natural hair.

The issue is that not many of us were taught to do our natural hair, so we rather conveniently put wigs or weave in.
And this convenience has exploded into a problem because now black women only see their natural hair after weeks of it being under something that doesn’t even resemble our hair.
So not only do you not know how to do your real hair, you are conditioning yourself and others to prefer straight hair. And In the event y’all do wear it curly, it’s never in the type 3c-4c texture, it’s always in the 2a-3b texture.
Since y’all say yall can do both. Actually do both. There are natural hairstylist, book one. Youtube exists, watch a video. Go to a friend who’s natural and get your hair done by her. Theres options but y’all choose stubbornness each time.
And if you’re not wearing your natural hair because of other people... REMOVE THOSE PEOPLE FROM YOUR LIFE. They haters. Be confident in the way your hair grows out your scalp, I’m 100% positive that it’s beautiful.
