Rewatched the Toronto episode of Anthony Bourdain's The Layover, shot July 2012, and was struck that nearly every place he visited has since closed or moved, including two before the show even aired.

Like a lot of the cities he visited on The Layover (São Paulo, Taipei, Philadelphia, Dublin…) his assessment was that Toronto is kinda meh but has some pretty good stuff if you know where to look.
(All that said, Toronto's food scene — and what counts as the dominant views of it — have evolved considerably since 2012. As an example, Bourdain exclusively spends the episode hanging out with and being guided around by white men.)
