The fact that many Latinxs don’t want to accept how they navigate in our countries as white bc that’s not their lived experiences in the U.S. blows my mind. Honestly, as an Indigenous womxn, I can’t navigate my homelands the way they do
I face racism & anti-Indigeneity.

This also doesn’t include the anti-Blackness & racism Afro-Latinxs & Afro-Indigenous peoples face back in our lands. White Latinxs are the reason why we have anti-Blackness and anti-Indigeneity in our lands. I can’t coddle your discomfort as a white Latinx.
This also doesn’t mean that as a white Latinx you won’t face racism in the U.S. bc whiteness here is different—this also includes some Mestizxs. I’m sorry but if you are a mestizx and are closer to whiteness in our countries, it’s bc you benefit from being perceived as white.
I called someone a white Latinx and they went on saying how it made them uncomfortable bc that’s not their lived experience in the U.S.
Yes, but if we de-center the U.S. racial politics, how are you perceived in Mexico? To me you are white & thus are perceived white in Mexico.

I don’t understand why it doesn’t make sense to them how they are racialized in Mexico. I know accepting ones privileges is hard to do when we are taught that we are the oppressed & not the oppressor.
