I’m at the part of Obama’s book where he embarrasses House Republicans by going to their retreat and debunking their Obamacare conspiracies, and it strikes me that today’s Republicans would never subject their conspiracies to sustained questioning - from Dems or real journalists.
People like @tedcruz and @HawleyMO either hide behind right-wing media or filibuster a 5-minute cable hit. They couldn’t handle a full interview with journalists like @jaketapper or @SavannahGuthrie, let alone real debates with Democrats, because they know they have no argument.
All of this is to say they’re not just seditious - they’re scared and intellectually lazy.
As I was saying: master debater @tedcruz is sill too afraid to actually argue his positions outside of his favorite safe spaces.
