My cat Billy became a postman in 2020, a thread:
A few months ago my girlfriend @ogildy noticed something on Billy's collar - a folded note, wrapped in cling film and attached with a wire tie
With no idea who or where the note had come from, she replied
From this point on my girlfriend and an unknown neighbour became penpals, all through an oblivious feline postcat
Here he is loaded up, checking out the day's route
Recipes were shared (I urge you to try wasabi mash)
NB: turns out less is more with truffle oil
He really was the last of the litter to be homed. Here's a pic of him wonkily greeting us at @GoddardVets Plaistow back in September 2019
Development 1: the neighbour had sorted him out with a proper mailbag
Development 2: my girlfriend bought some colourful pens

NB: this squid stew was sublime (couldn't find taro, used sweet potato): http://www.punkednoodle.com/squid-and-taro-stew-from-sweetness-and-lightning/
Really looking the part here
Finding a penfriend who also binges on home cooking and Netflix = lucking out
Coloured pens really coming into their own now
Billy lost his heart-shaped mailbag so we had to sit him down and discuss his purrformance
But he bounced straight back and was waiting for us with a delivery the very next morning
My Octopus Teacher was absolutely fascinating and squid was now off the menu
Due to a crazy (and tough) time recently, we hadn't replied in a timely manner so received another note
However, here he is now, ready to go (after his cat nap)
The last few months of 2020 really took their toll on me in a number of ways. I cannot express how grateful I am for my girlfriend Olga, my family and friends, and for little Billy (or should I now call him Jiji? 😽)
