ALL WHITE PEOPLE ARE RACIST. you cannot decide whether or not you are, you can actively unlearn it, but there are still inherent biases and privileges that you have that contribute to and maintain the structure of racism.
you are can be an active racist- Klan Member/Trump supporter.

you can be a passive racist- not an active racist but not unlearning or acknowledging your racist tendencies and privileges.

or you can be unlearning racism, but still participating in it by being white in America.
there are white people in this movement who i’ve tried to coddle and be like “you’re different.” and they’ve straight up said “no i’m not. i can walk away from this movement tomorrow and go back to a normal life, so i’m not different.”
I would expand on that and say that you can’t be “white” without being racist. Whiteness is a creation, a structure put in place to maintain a logic of racism.

We can’t abolish racism without abolishing “whiteness.” -

@WhimsicalPuck
racism is a deeply rooted and structural issue.

it’s not a person by person decision.

you grow up in america, you learn biases in school (like thanksgiving, the watered down version of slavery, the condemnation of communism, etc)
my “protest mom” — an extremely pro-black white woman (who doesn’t appropriate our culture or fetishize us) told me about how someone was telling her a story about an aggressive man at a bar and how she immediately visualized him as black. mind you she shows up to EVERY PROTEST.
like literally has taken charges for us, pushed police off of us and everything: and she STILL has INHERENTLY RACIST BIASES AND TENDENCIES that she’s unlearning by participating in the fight for black liberation but that are very much still prominent and manifesting...
and if being called racist is enough to make you not feel welcome and want to leave a movement, you are racist as fuck.

because any “ally” or “accomplice” knows their place in racism, their privilege, and their power and that’s why they join the fight.
and the case by case experiences you’ve had with white people paying your bills or looking out for you or even your friends parents, do not address the overarching system of racism that is promulgated.

there was white people here in GA who loved me but not all Black ppl
most of y’all’s defense to being called racist. is being racist. befitting. you’ll catch the block button. i don’t argue with people who are going to hell.
i was gonna go private but i do not care. y’all hide behind fake profiles and would never dream of doing anything you say or saying anything you tweet in person. so type on 😘♥️
