Little Jodie Whittaker Dr. Who era rewatch thread
The Woman Who Fell to Earth.

It’s a really strong start. Aesthetically pleasing brand new start to a brand new era of Dr. Who! Grace 😪 RIP. Even Tzim Sha (I think that’s the first time I’ve said it correctly) is a welcome adversary in this story, holds up really well overall.
The Ghost Monument.

God I’ve always LOVED this one it’s the perfect introduction for the Fam to the Doctor’s life. A planet that’s off orbit and everything on it will kill you. Surely Terry Nation wrote this? It’s completely and utterly unapologetically Dr. Who to the core.
Rosa.

The first Whittaker era historical decided to go a powerful route and it definitely succeeded. The first references to past Dr. Who too with Stormcage and vortex manipulators. The first time this era felt like a hit ITV Drama despite being on BBC and it works so well.
Arachnids in the UK.

It has “Tea at Yaz’s” and that’s a classic. Yaz’s family are a good addition, might be my favourite part of the story. Chris Noth be like “money”. The ending with how they get rid of the spiders is 😬. Average story. The Fam staying on makes narrative sense
The Tsuranga Conundrum.

The tension build in the first half of the story is done so well, it feels like it’s going to be a crazy horror story. But then the Pting turns up and the story probably works for some but it just makes me wish it went down a similar route to ‘Midnight’.
Demons of the Punjab.

Genuinely brilliant. Seriously one of the biggest strengths of the Whittaker era is the historical tales and this one in particular is fantastic. The curveball thinking the aliens will be the threat but actually it’s humans in a massive historical event.
Kerblam!

Can’t believe the delivery for the Eleventh Doctor’s fez turned up over 1,000 years late. It’s very reminiscent of late McCoy era stories and it’s enjoyable. I can see what the message is that they’re going for but it somehow manages to be like ‘capitalism yeah!’
The Witchfinders.

This one is bleak and I kind of love it. Historicals are really strong in the Whittaker era. King James being the definition of camp is absolutely hilarious and I’m almost certain he was flirting with Ryan the whole time which is even funnier. Love this show😂
It Takes You Away.

God this is the shining light of series 11, this episode really is a modern classic in the making. Absolutely fantastic stuff, love EVERYTHING about this one. Is it because it’s Horror Who? Maybe but who cares, it’s genuinely one of the best Whittaker stories.
The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos.

I feel like people don’t like this one bc it’s not a traditional end of the universe scale finale. I didn’t like it when it aired but, while not great, I dig the emotional low scale story a lot. But it acc doesn’t feel like a series finale ngl
Resolution (of a Dalek).

THIS is how you make the Daleks feel fresh & scary. The mutant is so productive and capable outside the casing I love that. As Dalek stories go this is absolutely solid in my opinion. Ryan and Aaron scenes were great too. Love the supporting cast as well
Spyfall Part 1.

The Doctor? O! I only know the Master. I love this Bond style spy adventure with the Dr Who twist of course. I really like the Kasaavin and I think this is the perfect part 1 to a story. Coincidentally it’s my favourite Thirteenth Doctor story (on TV anyway).
