This is going to be wildly unpopular, but here goes: the results haven't been brilliant recently but I think #wwfc have demonstrated the fluidity and interplay that Nuno wants us to evolve into. But, as ever, certain moments of matches are costing us.
This isn't a blame game: but if Silva buries his last-gasp against Spurs, 3 points, if Otasowie buries his chance this evening, 3 points, if Moutinho doesn't give the penalty away in nine seconds this evening, different game. If Semedo doesn't concede a penalty to Villa, etc.
#wwfc played well against Spurs and Arsenal. I'd argue the same for the Manchester United and Villa games - we had the most shots in both. The problem is consistency and game management which is classic for young players: we can be scintillating for 30 minutes, then awful for 60.
We're missing six first teamers: show me Manchester United without Fernandes, Rashford et al. Or Spurs without Kane, Son et al. Any top team would struggle, so we can struggle too. You are not going to sign a top quality striker to play second fiddle to Raul.
Do I have faith in Nuno to turn it around? Yes. I would be more worried if there weren't those 30 minutes of exciting interplay, it's just not consistent - but it will come. Mistakes happen with young players, it's how they learn from them that counts.
