Saying qprs are "just friendships" undervalues platonic relationships and residing qprs to that for existing outside of an amatonormative structure isnt okay. Both of these connections are just as important as eachother and romantic partnership and they should be treated that way
It's not a new word to describe friendship, It's a label for a form of commitment that just might suit some of us and our boundaries better in terms of setting a dynamic based around attractions we can feel outside of romantic, sexual, and platonic such as alterous attraction
The constant belittling of predominantly aromantic experiences is incredibly harmful to both us and the community as a whole. Queerplatonic relationships are not the same as friendships but both definitely need to be valued higher and appreciated more often in general
